BIOGRAPHY
Vanessa Heeger is a Berlin-based film editor, sound designer and filmmaker.
Her work was presented at international festivals such as Cannes, Locarno, San Sebastián, and others. Notably, Erogenesis received the Prix Canal+ at Semaine de la Critique and Slimane was awarded Best Short Film of 2023 by the German Film Critics Association.
She directed the short film The Flower-Headed Boy which premiered at Mar del Plata and Oberhausen Kurzfilmtage, and was later exhibited at the CCK (Centro Cultural Kirchner) and Centro Cultural Recoleta.
She is a graduate from the Universidad del Cine (FUC) in Buenos Aires. In 2018, she was awarded the Art School Alliance residency from the Hamburg University of Fine Arts.
Since 2019, she studies Editing and Sound at the German Film and Television Academy (DFFB) in Berlin, supported by a scholarship from the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes.
Since 2023 she works as a film editing tutor and, since 2025, as a teaching assistant and coordinator at the DFFB.
